Buying new
A new van gives you a warranty, current insulation standards and the longest possible run before any park age limit bites. You also absorb the sharpest part of the depreciation curve.
Buying used
A used van at half the price can deliver most of the same holidays. The risks are damp, dated heating, and a shorter remaining life on the pitch if the park enforces an age limit.
Always ask how many years the park will allow the van to remain, and get the answer in writing.
Checks worth paying for
- Independent damp survey on anything over five years old
- Gas safety certificate and boiler service history
- Evidence of the last habitation or service check
- Confirmation of what is included, such as decking and furniture
